A Christmas Cooking Course in France
A great Christmas gift idea - a Christmas cooking course in France will give you a taste of a typical Christmas in France - and it has nothing to do with turkey!
Actually, it's seafood and shellfish that are often on the French Christmas menu, together with duck, goose, venison and wild boar. And what's more, it's Christmas Eve when the big meal is consumed and the Christmas gifts are opened.
With its mild climate (locals have been known to eat Christmas dinner outdoors) and beautiful rolling scenery, quiet roads and few tourists the Dordogne is a very lovely and tranquil place in which to spend Christmas.
As a bonus, the festive season is much less commercialised here than in the UK, but the towns are still bedecked with Christmas trees and decorations, and at the entrance to every village the roads are festooned with baubles, tinsel, ribbons and little parcels wrapped in gorgeous Christmas colours.
The Accommodation...
You will be staying in our magnificent, comfortable and spacious converted barn, which is centrally-heated throughout. The four large en suite bedrooms are either twins or doubles and all open independently onto the sunny (yes, even in wineter) courtyard. The impressive kitchen and lounge area are upstairs under the stupendous vaulted ceiling.
The perfect Christmas gift...
I know it's early yet to start thinking about gifts for Christmas, but if you are struggling to come up with a Christmas gift idea, then why not give your partner, best friend or cherished family member a really special Christmas gift - a five day/six night Christmas cooking course here in the heart of the Dordogne, SW France.

Have a non-cooking partner or friend..?
Non-participating partners of cooking holiday guests, and non-residents, are most welcome. Prices are per person for six nights on a five day course from 4pm Sunday to 10am the following Saturday.
Non-cooking partners are welcome to have breakfast and lunch with us for, respectively, a small £10 and £15 per day supplement. The meal at the restaurant will also be charged, but is not expensive and is typically in the region of £15, including wine, per non-cooking guest (an example of the huge value for money that is eating-out in France).
